Police in Glens Falls are looking for a bank robber. WNYT reports just before 10:30am Monday, the man entered the Glens Falls National Bank on Broad Street. He gave a note to the teller demanding money, got an undisclosed amount of cash and took off running. The Glens Falls School District went under a lockout and all outdoor after school activities were canceled.

County Public Health Officials With Tick Advisory
Last spring and summer we saw a large increase in cases of tick-borne illness in Warren County
Those who go to woods, grassy areas or fields where ticks are present should take precautions that include:
Wearing clothing treated with permethrin to kill ticks. Using insect repellent on exposed skin.
Wearing light colored clothing and a hat, and wearing long pants tucked into socks, long-sleeved shirts fitted at wrists and closed-toe shoes.
Performing a full body check, including in hair, and checking clothing for ticks after an outing. Showering after an outing is highly recommended
Two Fort Edward Police Officers To Appear Before Judge
Two Fort Edward police officers – including the chief of police – are scheduled to appear before a judge . WNYT reports the charges they face are felonies. The Times Union is reporting that Fort Edward Police Chief Justin Derway and Sergeant Dean Watkins allegedly falsified hundreds of hours of training certification documents. Each man is facing 11 different counts. The attorney general alleges Derway and Watkins were responsible for overseeing training for 15 police recruits starting in 2018.
Travel + Leisure Recognizes Lake George
According to Travel + Leisure, Lake George is one of only 12 – out of thousands – of lakes spread out across the US that made this exclusive list for its “natural good looks.” The publication recognized Lake George for the Narrows, where “the Southern Adirondacks squeeze the spring-fed lake into a five-mile stretch dotted with hundreds of islands of all sizes.” The lake’s rich history was also acknowledged, including the Sagamore Resort that dates back to the 1880s, and the waterfront mansions along what locals call Millionaire’s Row.
Fort Edward Police Chief, Sergeant, Face Criminal Complaints
Criminal complaints have been filed against Fort Edward Police Chief Justin Derway and Police Sergeant Dean Watkins, reports the Times Union. The state attorney general was looking into allegations the two men falsified training records of nearly a dozen recruits. Derway and Watkins were placed on administrative leave back in January. Now they’re both accused of felonies.

Closed Warren County Roadway Back Open
A road closed in Warren County is back open to traffic. WNYT reported on Sunday, Olmstedville Road in the town of Chester was closed while crews repaired flood damage due to a beaver dam failure on Marshall Brook.
While the road is back open, the road cannot be paved until asphalt plants reopen later this spring. That will likely be in May.

Former Youth Sports Coach Gets 30 Years For Sexually Abusing Children
A man from Mechanicville will spend 30 years behind bars for sexually abusing children. WNYT reports 51 year old Gary Ryan, a former Saratoga County youth sports coach, was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty in federal court to transportation of minors to engage in sexual activity. Ryan admitted to assaulting boys as young as 5 on trips to Orlando, Boston and Las Vegas. He also admitted to giving the kids drugs and alcohol.
