New Pumps To Handle Sewage For Lake George Wastewater Treatment Plant

The deteriorating pumps handling sewage from the Caldwell Sewer District to Lake George Village’s wastewater treatment plant will soon be replaced, following the June 13 decision by the Town Board to undertake the $1.2 million project. Sun Community News reports the initiative includes upgrading almost all the equipment in the district’s two pump stations including new flow meters, emergency bypass valves and pipes, flow interruption alarms, electronic and digital controls and flow meters.

Americade Will Be A Week Earlier Next Year

Americade in Lake George will happen a week earlier than usual in 2023, to coincide with Memorial Day weekend. According to the Post Star, next year’s Americade will happen May 29 to June 3. Organizers sayiIt’s Americade’s 40th anniversary next year, and Laconia’s 100th anniversary, and they wanted to separate the two popular biker events so as not to coincide with one another.

Early Voting Begins In Warren County Saturday

Don’t forget that early voting for the June primary in Warren County begins Saturday. Voters will be able to vote either at Warren County Human Services Building (1340 Route 9, Queensbury) or Glens Falls City Hall (42 Ridge Street, Glens Falls) for early voting. Stefanik Critical Of Biden Food And Farm Policies

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has joined other Republicans in sending a letter to President Biden calling on him to address his administration’s policies that have harmed America’s farmers and increased the price of food for consumers. The letter reads, in part, ” Your Administration’s federal regulatory barriers and policies are undermining America’s ability to meet the food and fiber needs of the globe by creating uncertainty for U.S. farmers and ranchers.”

Two COVID Deaths Reported In Warren County Last Week

Two Warren County residents died last week due to COVID-19. According to the Sun Community News, one of the individuals was in their 60s and the other in their 80s, and both were vaccinated. The person in their 60s had received a booster shot. Both lived at home before becoming ill and being hospitalized with the virus. These two incidents raised the county’s death toll to 124 over the pandemic.

One Displaced In Kingsbury House Fire

An electrical fire at 1164 Dix Ave. displaced one adult on Saturday afternoon. The Post Star reports fire and EMS personnel were on scene at 1164 Dix Ave. for an electrical fire that displaced one adult. The call for a structure fire came in to Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company at 4:05 p.m. He said that it took the departmenet about six minutes to get there. No injuries reported.

Adirondack Safari Letting Vets Stay For Free

Through a joint effort with the Warren County Veteran Service Office, Outdoor Rx Coalition and Adirondack Peer-Peer, Adirondack Safari is letting veterans and their immeidate families stay for free. It’s for veterans from Warren, Washington and Saratoga counties and applies regardless of character of discharge.

Fundraiser Planned For Family Of Man, Boy Killed In Motorcycle Crash

In the wake of a Lake George man and his step son being killed when a motorcycle crashed into them, a fundraiser is now planned to help the family. It happened near the Lake George Expedition Park. Next Wednesday, the park will hold a fundraiser, Wednesday, June 22 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. It will be donation-only admission with live music and a silent auction and all proceeds will go to the family of 38 year old Jamie Persons and 8 year old Quinton Delgadillo.

DMV Says Motorcyclist In Deadly Lake George Crash Not Licensed

WRGB confirming that the operator of the motorcycle involved in a crash that killed two people, including an 8-year-old boy was not licensed to operate a motorcycle. 33 year old Anthony J. Futia of Albany, NY lost control of his motorcycle on Route 9 after it went off east shoulder of the road and onto a paved bike path, striking a group of six pedestrians who were standing at the entrance to the bike path. 38 year old James Persons and 8 year old Quinton Delgadillo, both from Lake George, died in the crash.
