The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says a 73-year-old man had sexual contact with a child younger than 11 years old. According to WNYT, Miles Stevens is accused of carrying out the abuse for about a year. He faces felony sex abuse charges.

Two Arrested In Lake George Attack
Two Warren County men have been charged after an alleged gang assault in the village of Lake George. WTEN reports on August 20th, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was called to an assault taking place on Canada Street. Police found the victim lying on the ground with a severe head injury and fractured ankle. Police say 23 year old Nicholas Motta of Lake George and 22 year old Sean Lamando of Queensbury, repeatedly punched the victim. They’re still looking for a third person involved.
Warren County Tax Foreclosure Auction Upcoming
More than two dozen properties are going up for auction next month when Warren County hosts its annual live public auction of tax-foreclosures. WNYT reports it’s happening Saturday, October 15th at the Warren County courthouse.
As of this week, 27 units were on the list. Among them are a motel, single family homes, commercial property and vacant lots.
Free Car Safety Seat Inspection In Hudson Falls Monday
The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee will be holding a free car seat inspection in Washington County. The car seat check is set for Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Hudson Falls. Woman Dies In Granville Crash
A woman after a crash on Route 22 in Granville late Wednesday afternoon. 38 year old Richelle Wooddell pulled onto Route 22 from a driveway without yielding the right of way for a vehicle traveling northwest on the road. WTEN reports the vehicle struck Wooddell’s car. She was pronounced dead a short time later at Glens Falls Hospital.
New Special Events For Six Flags
Six Flags Great Escape released a robust lineup of special events going on during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The lineup includes the return of fan-favorite events such as Fright Fest, as well as other new offerings for eventgoers. Among them, Taste of Oktoberfest, starting this weekend, Thrills by Day Kid’s Boo Fest, Wild West Fest, next June and Hurricane Harbor Luau, next July.
Man Charged With Stealing From South Warren Snowmobile Club
Authorities announce the arrest of former Lake Luzerne trustee Mark McLain for allegedly swindling $127,723.84 from the South Warren Snowmobile Club (SWSC), McLain was charged with Grand Larceny . The 72 year old served as the SWSC Treasurer from 1999 to early 2020. The club receives funding from various public sources: Warren County, the Town of Queensbury, the Town of Lake Luzerne, the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the Village of Lake George and the Town of Lake George.
Special Olympics Fall Games In Glens Falls
This year, Glens Falls will be hosting the 2022 Special Olympics New York State Fall Games in October. According to WNYT, the games are expected to bring 1,300 athletes and coaches to the Capital Region, almost three times as many participants as last year’s event. The opening ceremony will be in City Park on Friday October 21, and the competition will go all day Saturday, October 22.
Residents Vote To Keep Lake George Village Intact
Residents of the village of Lake George have decided to keep the 120-year-old village intact. According to WNYT, The final vote was 269 to 59 from village residents. The village has been around for 120 years. The dissolution would have meant the end of the village, its government and its 36 employees.
