The Warren County Clerk’s Office has opened up its DMV office to walk-ins on WEDNESDAYS going forward. Those who do not wish to make an appointment can come to the office for their transactions on Wednesdays between 8:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on a first come, first served basis.
Appointments are required on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Hunter Dies On Adirondack Trail Near Lake George
A hunter was pronounced dead along an Adirondack trail near Lake George, after being found by New York State forest rangers. Sunday, they were notified about a hunter having cardiac issues walking down the Pilot Knob trail to the Buck Mountain trailhead. When Rangers and Pilot Knob Fire arrived, the hunter was unconscious and other hunters, hikers, and fire department personnel were performing CPR on the hunter. Rangers and EMS personnel continued these efforts. At 10:18 a.m., the hunter was declared deceased.
The Lake George Arts Project Seeks Submissions
The Lake George Arts Project is currently looking for proposals for the next wave of art to visit its courthouse gallery.
The arts project has opened submissions for 2024, with 2023’s art having already been decided. WTEN reports the gallery is giving first preference to experimental and non-traditional works of art, and is accepting submissions through an online portal . The window opens on Thursday, Dec. 1, and will end on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

Warren County Career Center is holding a job fair for upcounty businesses in Warrensburg on Monday, December 12th, and registration has begun for employers who would like to be part of it.
Businesses located in Warrensburg, Chester, Johnsburg, Thurman, Horicon, Hague and Stony Creek are invited to be part of the hiring event, which will be held at Warrensburg Fire Station at 18 Elm Street, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sunday Afternoon Shooting In Queensbury Walmart Parking Lot
A shooting at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27 in the parking lot of Walmart off state Route 9 in Queensbury prompted the evacuation of customers and closure of the store — and the hospitalization of a male victim. Sun Community News reports a man wearing a hoodie fled the scene in a gray sedan immediately after the incident and that police were working to track down the individual. The victim was shot in the hip. No word on a motive.
Granville Man Jailed For Violating Order Of Protection
A Washington County man is jailed after state police say he violated an order of protection when he burglarized a home earlier this month. According to WNYT, 34 year old Matthew Zagorski of Granville broke into a home on County Route 30 in the town of Hartford and stole a pair of binoculars and a cell phone from the victim.
Two Injured After Wednesday Explosion
An explosion has injured two people Wednesday morning behind the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 773 on Luzerne Road in Glens Falls. The men, ages 36 and 55, went into a storage unit to get tables out for a Thanksgiving gathering. There was a strong smell of gas inside at the time and the explosion followed. There were two 20 pound propane tanks in the unit, but an exact cause hasn’t been determined.
Warren County Hires New Administrator
The Warren County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce it has selected John Taflan, a former executive with the National Security Agency, to serve as Warren County Administrator.
Taflan replaces Ryan Moore, who was Warren County Administrator from 2018 until last August 1. Taflan’s family owns a home in Queensbury, and he plans to start the administrator post in the coming weeks.
Muller Announces Return To 4th Judicial District
In Lake George, Supreme Court Justice Robert J. Muller has announced his successful return to the 11-county 4th Judicial District. In a statement Nov. 16, Judge Muller said: “As the longest serving Supreme Court Justice in the 4th Judicial District, I am overtaken with gratitude for the tribute the voters of these 11 counties have extended to me with this hard-fought and now successful re-election.”
