An invasive species that threatens ash trees has made an unwanted home across parts of the Adirondacks for the last few years. This week, Warren County says it’s showing up in some new places. WTEN reports Warren County warned landowners to keep an eye out for signs of emerald ash borer infestation, following signs of damage caused by the insect in Lake George and Queensbury. The invasive insect eats through ash trees, causing trees to die within 2 to 4 years of infestation.

Man Charged With Taking Minor And Trying To Get Out Of State
State Police say they arrested a Greenwich man, accused of taking a minor with the intent of leaving the state. WRGB reports 44-year-old John Ingraham is accused of taking a child that was under the age of 16 without permission or consent of their legal guardian. The investigation began at a home in Greenwich at around 9:00 AM on January 6th. The child was located hours later with Ingraham at the I-90 NYS Thruway, Warners Service Area in Warners, NY.
Boil Water Advisory In Fort Edward
Following a water main break Monday morning, the Village of Fort Edward is issuing a boil water advisory. Those who reside in the following areas should boil their water to ensure that disease-causing organisms aren’t in your drinking water or water for culinary use. The boil water advisory is in effect for Seminary Street, Oak Street, Valley Street and Clark’s Lane.
Pet Store To Reimburse Customers Who Bought Sick Pets
The Pet Zone, a pet store with a location in Aviation Mall, deceived New Yorkers into buying sick pets, says New York state’s attorney general. WNYT reports Letitia James says customers were given incomplete medical records to hide pets’ illnesses.
The company will pay up to $200,000 to reimburse qualifying customers for medical costs.

Schager To Lead NYSP Troop G
Major Dennis Schager has been named the 38th commander of New York State Police Troop G, which has 24 stations and serves 10 counties, including Warren and Washington. He was appointed by Acting Superintendent Steven Nigrelli. Schager has previously worked at the New York State Intelligence Center and graduated from the New York State Police Academy in 1998, and was promoted to captain in 2018.
Former Queensbury Couple Found Dead In Their Central Florida Home
A couple that used to live in Queensbury was killed in their Central Florida home this past weekend. WNYT reports
Daryl Getman and his wife, Sharon Getman, were found dead in their Florida home. Police have identified Vickie Williams, 50, as a person of interest in the case.
Bail Revoked For Queensbury Walmart Parking Lot Shooting Suspect
A Warren County judge on Wednesday revoked the bail set for the man accused of shooting another man in the Route 9 Walmart parking lot. The Post Star reports Adrian A. Simental has been held at the Warren County Jail since Nov. 29, after he was charged with shooting another man, now identified as Brendan Grant, in the Walmart parking lot following an apparent road rage accident.
Internet Service Back For South Glens Falls CSD
After nearly a month since the outage began, internet service has been restored to the South Glens Falls Central School District. WTEN reports the school district shut down the internet service on December 19 after unauthorized activity was found on their server. Officials said no district information was compromised.
