The Warren County Office of Emergency Services is reminding people that the burn ban is in effect through May 14. WNYT reports the ban prohibits people from lighting open fires and burning loose leaves or leaf piles.
There are exceptions to this burn ban including campfires less than three feet in height, small cooking fires, and ceremonial fires.

Water Options For Jenkinsville Discussed
On Wednesday, the Queensbury Town Board announced a public informational meeting on April 17 to discuss possible approaches to expanding municipal water service in the Jenkinsville area and nearby parts of Eastern Queensbury. The Post Star reports the town board hired the engineering firm C.T. Male Associates to identify ways to provide municipal water in Jenkinsville after contaminants were found at low levels in some residential wells in the area.
New Superintendent To Be Announced For Argyle School District
The Argyle Board of Education announced its intent to appoint James Bennefield as superintendent of schools at a special meeting of the Board of Education on April 4. The Post Star reports Bennefield is currently the high school principal at the Hudson Falls Central School District.
Job Fair At Lake George High School Thursday
Lake George, Hadley-Luzerne, Bolton and Warrensburg student have the opportunity to attend a summer job fair at Lake George High on Thursday, March 30, an opportunity for teens to line up that summer job. Warren County Career Center staff will be on hand at the job fair to share information about the Summer Youth Employment Program and all of their free services for youth to help them be successful in meaningful work experiences.

The deadline to apply for Home Energy Assistance Program applications is March 31 this year.
You may be eligible for an Emergency HEAP benefit if:
* Your electricity is necessary for your heating system or thermostat to work and is either shut-off or scheduled to be shut off or
* Your electric or natural gas heat is off or scheduled to be shut-off or
* You are out of fuel, or you have less than one quarter tank of fuel oil, kerosene or propane or have less than a ten (10) day supply of wood, wood pellets, corn, or other deliverable heat source.

A Whitehall woman was arrested after police said she tried to bring drugs into Washington Correctional Facility. According to the Post Star, 36 year old Raven R. Obey-Mattison was charged on March 18 with a felony count of first-degree promoting prison contraband and a misdemeanor of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Alfred Allen sold crack cocaine to police on multiple occasions. He’s been charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was arraigned and sent back to the Warren County Correctional Facility, where he was already held for an unrelated matter.
The Sembrich Receives Funding For Technology, Marketing Projects
The Sembrich was recently awarded $120,400 in combined grant funds from New York State to support new and ongoing initiatives. The money will be used to upgrade office technology, develop digital programming, and enhance digital marketing. NYSCA responsive funding provides nearly 1,000 organizations with over $13 million in recovery support in FY23 as part of their FY23 $90 million in grant making and $150 million in multi-year capital support.
