WTEN reports the first-ever Lake George DJ Takeover Music Festival comes to the town this July, joining the ranks of events like the Rock the Dock Music Festival and the Lake George Music Festival.
Set for Saturday and Sunday, July 29-30, the DJ Takeover Music Festival is expected to draw DJs from across the Northeast.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is hosting the first-ever statewide community gun buyback in New York on Saturday, April 29. This one-day statewide initiative will feature nine simultaneous gun buyback events held across the state. State Board Of Regents Votes To Ban Indigenous Names, Mascots
The New York State Board of Regents Tuesday unanimously approved changes in regulations that will prohibit public schools from using Indigenous names, mascots and logos.
New York State school districts with Native American mascots will have two years to end the use of the Indigenous imagery.
Under the regulations, school boards must commit by the end of June to eliminate the use of names and imagery.
Report: Household Trash Disposal Charges Going Up In Warrensburg
Due to increased hauling and disposal charges, the cost of depositing household trash at the town of Warrensburg’s transfer station will increase from 10 cents per pound to 15 cents per pound beginning May 1. Sun Community News reports Warrensburg Town Supervisor Kevin Geraghty announced the increase at the town board’s April 12 meeting, observing that the hike was necessary to keep the transfer station’s operation from being a financial burden on taxpayers.
Fort Ann Man Charged With Forcible Touching
State Police of Greenwich arrested Jarod M. Maynard, 33, of Fort Ann, NY, for Forcible Touching.
On April 12, 2023, at about 9:14 p.m., Troopers received a complaint that a victim was inappropriately touched while in Fort Ann, NY. The investigation determined that Maynard reportedly touched the victim inappropriately without the victim’s permission or consent. Maynard surrendered himself to authorities.
Earth Day Collection Spots Still Open In Warren County
There are still spots available for Warren County Department of Public Works’ first household hazardous waste collection event of 2023, scheduled for Earth Day, Saturday, April 22. Registration is required for this event, where Warren County residents can get rid of hazardous materials such as cleaners and pesticides at no charge.

New Info On Deadly Washington County Shooting
A woman in Hebron, Washington County ended up in the wrong driveway while searching for a friend’s house, and was shot to death. According to WNYT, the woman, 20 year old Kaylin Gillis was with friends, when the group mistakenly turned into a driveway in Hebron. They were leaving when 65 year old Kevin Monahan allegedly shot them. Monahan is now being held in the Warren County Jail on second-degree murder charges.
Stefanik Campaign Releases Campaign Finance Report
A new quarterly campaign finance report Elise Stefanik’s campaign filed Saturday with the Federal Election Commission, shows her campaign raised nearly $1.12 million in the first quarter. The five-term incumbent’s campaign spent $713,612 in the 1st quarter, and had $1.3 million on hand, as of March 31.
Greater Glens Falls Transit Bus Route Changes
Three Greater Glens Falls transit bus routes are set to change starting on Monday, April 17. InformNY.com rpeorts the transit authority said that a continued bus driver shortage is responsible. The three changing routes are all weekday routes. Routes 11 and 12, which operate from Upper Glen Street to the Aviation Mall and Route 9 Walmart, will be replaced by the Route 19 weekday bus. That bus’ normal route takes it along Bay Street and Quaker Road, but will now service Glen Street, Upper Glen Street, the Route 9 Walmart, and the Montcalm Apartments.
Washington County Shooting Leaves On Dead
Washington County Sheriff Jeff Murphy tells WNYT there was a shooting in the community of Hebron Saturday night and one person is dead. The victim is said to be a 20-year-old woman, who’s not been identified. Also, there is no suspect information.
