DEC has reopened all camping and day-use sites in the Narrow Island group of Lake George Islands. The sites reopened almost three weeks after a storm caused damage to the area. The agency first announced many camping and day-use sites would be closed until further notice on July 17, after storms left considerable damage. On July 24, nine of the campsites reopened on Hatchet and Floating Battery Islands.
