Hundreds of trees were uprooted and numerous houses damaged after strong winds and rain swept through Warren County Tuesday evening. As the strong system moved in from the west, emergency warnings were issued after a confirmed tornado touched down near Wells, NY and meteorologists have reported winds topping 87 MPH in Glens Falls as the system moved east into Vermont. A State of Emergency has since been declared in Glens Falls with residents encouraged to stay home and off the roads. Roughly a dozen roads were temporarily closed at that time between downed power lines, tress and flooding.
The path of destruction left nearly 17,000 customers without power in Warren County as of 6:15 p.m.
