Warrensburg Has Law Pending Tackling Poultry Property Regulations

A pending local law regulating raising poultry and other fowl on residential properties in the Town of Warrensburg will likely be bridging a divide between some people raising chickens and their neighbors. Sun Community News reports provisions limiting six chickens per homeowner, requirements for fencing, and specifications for chicken coops and their placement have been dropped, however the mandate that people must not let their chickens leave their yards remains in the ordinance, along with a ban on roosters in the Warrensburg hamlet. Outside the hamlet, roosters are permitted.
