Two Fort Edward Police Officers To Appear Before Judge

Two Fort Edward police officers – including the chief of police – are scheduled to appear before a judge . WNYT reports the charges they face are felonies. The Times Union is reporting that Fort Edward Police Chief Justin Derway and Sergeant Dean Watkins allegedly falsified hundreds of hours of training certification documents. Each man is facing 11 different counts. The attorney general alleges Derway and Watkins were responsible for overseeing training for 15 police recruits starting in 2018.
