Howard Johnson’s motel at 99 Canada St. was flooded recently for the second time in 31 days. The Sun Community News reports Mayor Robert Blais told the board members that the floodwaters were up to five feet deep in the lower-level first-floor motel rooms. The flooding was prompted by both heavy rainstorms and runoff from melting snow in the prior days. The owner has agreed to reimburse the village for costs incurred when floodwaters on the property overwhelmed the village’s sanitary sewer pump stations.
